The Pennyworth Mine

The Pennyworth mine was dug following a rich vein of copper ore.  It is three levels deep, connected by a single shaft.  The lowest level bridges a chasm that drops 50' to an Underdark tunnel.

The mine was productive and supported a nearby hamlet for many years until something came up from the chasm and slaughtered the miners.  Survivors fled the hamlet and monsters moved in.

Today, the hamlet and mine are in ruins.  They beckon adventurers with the lure of treasure, and a connection to the Underdark itself.
